History
Established 2009, Renee started Abundantly Aromatic as a side project to teach her sons about entrepreneurship. When the housing market crashed, Renee left her job as a real estate agent and devoted her life to making high-quality, all-natural products at an affordable price. All of our products are handmade by Renee and her son at our workshop on the border of Mesquite and Dallas. Renee believes everyone should have access to bath and beauty products that are natural, gentle, and local.
About Our Products
Everything is handmade locally with all-natural ingredients. We use 100% Grade A, Organic Shea Butter in all of our soaps, body scrubs, and, of course, our Shea Butter lotions. Our products are ideal for those with dry, sensitive skin.
How We Make Our Soap
We use what is called ‘The Cold Process’ to make our soaps. We put all of our fats - Shea Butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and palm oil - into what is called a ‘Granny’s Kettle.’ After those are thoroughly mixed together with a device akin to a hand mixer called a ‘Pot Whipper,’ caustic soda is added and stirred in. The soap at this stage has the consistency of pancake batter and any fragrance or extra ingredients are added in. Then the soap is poured into a large mold and sits for a few days. After the soap has set, the sides of the mold can be taken off and the large block of soap is cut into logs. Ideally, the soap will dry in logs for a day and then cut into individual soap pieces to be wrapped. The entire process takes about a week.
Every product is handmade at our workshop on the border of Mesquite and Dallas. That’s just 15 minutes away from the Dallas Farmers Market!
